Decades Music

Rick did an awesom job keeping the crowd going, not that we needed much help. He read the crowd and played everything we loved. He was awesom.

Rick was great! He was very patient with all of the questions we had and requests we made in planning. When we put in the song requests, there was no "well, its going to be extra to have those songs" or "I don't have those" ... it was simply "got it. done." We wanted to more strictly control the playlist than typical couples, and Rick was completely fine with that. On the wedding day, he was punctual, flexible to our requests, upbeat, and played the right music at the right times. We heard a lot of positive feedback from our guests about the music, too. There were a few songs that Rick played to fill in where we hadn't provided suggestions that were just OK, but those were few and far between so it wasn't much of an issue at all. Weddings are filled with things that can be a hassle, so the effortlessness of working with Rick made things great!

Rick from Decades music was great; he played most of the songs I wanted him to play. There were two songs that I really wanted him to play that he didn't but oh well. He took DH's thoughts about music and absolutely ran with them by bringing them to the reception. DH's favorite type of music is classic rock and Rick played it all night long. It didn't sound weird or anything, like what I thought it would before the reception. One thing that really impressed me throughout the reception is that Rick actually came out on the dance floor and danced with everyone, I've never seen a DJ do that before. He started to play the father-daughter dance song at the beginning of the parents dance, kinda awkward, and there were weird gaps of silence in between the songs he played during dinner. Otherwise he was great!

The music overall was great... didn't find him to be very personable. He played the wrong song for our entrance and then got mad when I told him. I just smiled...like a grumpy dj was going to wreck my day. He didnt talk at all which was good...if you want someone interactive I would search else where. Also was slow to respond to emails..which had me worried in the planning process. But like I said he played good tunes so it wasnt a total loss:-)

Our guests didn't leave the dance floor and the dj was very personable but short and sweet on the microphone. Would definitely recommend!

Rick is AWESOME. My husband made a song list before the wedding on Decades' virtual jukebox, which was so easy. We did it in about 2 hours the week before our wedding. There were a couple of songs he didn't have, but my husband made a special request for them and we did hear them at the reception. Rick was clean cut, nice, and unobtrusive, but make the essential announcements. The music couldn't have been any more perfect, judging by the packed dance floor all night. Rick really knew how to kick it up and bring it down a little. Perfect.
